@Team_Barrowman Appearances Labor Day Weekend

John Barrowman new CD coverPosted this over on the newsgroup, but given the timely nature of the post, and how busy the mods are with posts about the new CD, the new tour, Torchwood Miracle Day, in case it doesn’t make it there, thought I’d post it here as well… :)

For those who don’t know, John Barrowman has a new Best of CD coming out on Monday (preordered mine from Amazon UK – so much cheaper than Amazon US, since they consider JB’s stuff “imports” so charge through the nose for it –  and just got an email from them that it has been shipped, yay!), so has been/will be EVERYWHERE promoting it last week and this week.

I sat down last night and consolidated all the John Barrowman website news and tweets about his radio/TV appearances and put them all in order from earliest to latest, and well, let’s just say I’m glad this is a three day holiday weekend here in the states and I don’t have to go to work on Monday. 😀

Get a reprieve today, Saturday, from all the radio shows last week, and only Michael Ball tomorrow, but MONDAY! Oy vey! So many! And for us East Coast-ers, so EARLY, most of them!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~

And I’m not even sure that’s ALL of them.

Still not sure how I’m going to handle the overlap of the two radio shows that are both at 3 am (kudos to the one DJ who actually replied to my email, if I have to pick between the two radio shows, HE gets my bandwidth); throw the ITV thing into the mix and all bets are off. Hopefully where JB overlaps, he’ll be off of one before the next one starts.

At least a lot of the BBC radio programs have Listen Again or Podcast options, so that’ll help.  And I’ve got a laptop that can pick up some of it.

Love the way that “Daybreak” comes on at 1am the night before here. I’m tired already. LOL

But on the bright side, at least very little of it, since most of it other than QVC is in the wee hours, won’t interfere with any daylight holiday plans. So won’t have to be pausing any movies, or skipping out on any Wii games to go switch something on on the PC.

Let the JB holiday weekend commence! 😀

SEPTEMBER 4 EDIT:

Several interview audio files uploaded to my JB audio page here.

@thirdday vs @Team_Barrowman :)

Well, it had to happen. After John Barrowman usurped U2’s long standing place in my CD player back in February, something finally came along and – at least for now – usurped HIS place in my current CD player.

But what can you do? When Third Day – my second favorite band behind Number 1 favorite band U2, you can read up on a little of my history with 3D here – picks you to be in a select group o’ Gomers and sends you an advance copy of their upcoming new release “Move” a month ahead of time, well, YEAH, you are going to give everything else the boot and give it a listen, yes? :) So yes, it’s on my car CD player, it’s on my PC at home, it’s on my PDA at my desk at the office and if I have anything to say about it, it will be accompanying the b/f and me on our drive to the Carolina Panther’s game in Charlotte on Sunday. 😀

Once again, Third Day has produced a winner, the new CD is brilliant, I love it. Not a bad song in the bunch. Still a little early to try to figure out which songs are my favorites yet, but “Surrender”, well, if THAT one doesn’t make it into their live setlist, something somewhere has gone terribly horribly wrong. And “Make Your Move” just RAWKS! 😀

Wanna see/hear what gave John Barrowman the boot from all my audio devices? You can stream the whole CD for the next day or so from here.

New pic, new video on my @Team_Barrowman pages

I finally make my first LOLCat photo, and what does it turn out to be? A LOLJohn photo instead! 😀

Anyhoo, that’s the photo, it’s also on the Various and Sundries page, and if it looks familiar, it’s from John singing “I Won’t Send Roses” at the Faenol Festival a few years back. Think it’s one of the best songs on his new CD, so naturally had to include the video for it on the Multimedia page.

Love that song.

@Team_Barrowman AmazonUK order finally arrived! Woot!

Something just occurred to me… Another Side went gold, right after I ordered it. Why do I visualize it sitting there at 499,999 after all this time, then I order it, and *poof* it pushes it right over the top into Gold status. Coincidence? Maybe. But I’d like to think that I was responsible for it, lol. You’re welcome, John. 😉 (But what happens if I send the CD back, do the Powers that Be take the gold record away from you again!?! LOL)

Another Side goes Gold

Anyway, it’s not like my CD order from AmazonUK was really all that late, it only came in a day later than guestimated. But I guess I’m just used to AmazonUS giving estimated delivery dates and then beating those dates by 3-5 days regularly. Not used to them coming in after the fact. (Why do I keep thinking “My CDs just flew in from England, and boy are their arms tired!” LOL). I can be an amazingly patient person when it lets me save $50+ on an Amazon order. In all honesty, though, I was getting a smidge itchy about hearing the new CD; I’ve been reading for the last week and a half how GREAT it was, and was getting just a little impatient to hear it for myself.

So anyhoo, the John Barrowman CDs are finally here (and arrived on his birthday, no less. Happy John’s birthday to ME! 😀 ). To recap, I picked up Another Side, Music Music Music, Swings Cole Porter, and the new one – called simply John Barrowman – that came out a week and a half ago. FINALLY, I have liner notes to go with the songs that I’ve been listening to for the last month or so. I’ll probably put the new CD in the CD player of my clock radio and give it a listen tonight, but the CD that I’m actually most interested in the liner notes at the moment is the Cole Porter CD.

I’ve really been grooving on that one the last several days (have one or two tracks from that one in the mp3 player widget at the left – What is This Thing Called Love and Don’t Fence Me In – if anyone wants to take a listen), so hoping there’s some good background info to be had on the songs in the liner notes. And as I mentioned on my webpage, out of all JB’s album covers I’ve seen, Swings Cole Porter is DEFINITELY my favorite. If I were one of my cats, I’d be purring right now. LOL. 😉

In other news, I apparently threw out my bum knee this morning during ye olde Wii Fit workout. I think it was a combination of too many crossover lunges and the fact that it’s been damp and rainy here all day today. Rain always tends to set my knee off. So I’ve been keeping the bottle of ibuprofen close at hand, and while it’s not bothering me quite enough to do the usual 800mg 3 to 4 times a day, 400mg did absolutely nothing for it, so I split the difference and have been taking 600mg three times a day today. I’m HOPING that it’s just a temporary setback (temporary as in “just overnight, will be fine in the morning”); I’ve already missed 2 workout days this week already, and was just getting back into the swing of things yesterday and today. And I’ve been on such a roll with the post Christmas diet, down almost 10 pounds courtesy of my Wii EA Sports Active workouts 3-4 times a week. Really don’t want to have to give it up because of the knee again, or I know me, I’ll never get back to it. :(

Allrighty then. Looks like 600+ words is enough for one night. To reuse a favorite phrase of mine – Put a fork in me, I’m done. 😀

@Team_Barrowman – My JB webpages are done. Whew!

…At least until the new John Barrowman CD finally gets here this week and I can include my thoughts on that. Or until I find some other miscellaneous bits o’ randomness to include on the third page. But after giving up 10 bucks to plug in the Virgin Mobile 3G net connection (we don’t have wireless at the office), 5 lunch hours last week, several late nights, and a good part of this afternoon (a lot of all that time was learning curve, still getting the hang of this whole Jooma design thang. Trying to figure out how to beat java script, php files, and html header code into submission & getting the video player to cooperate and actually play back JB’s “Night and Day” video the way I wanted it to nearly had me slamming my head onto the desk this afternoon), I think it’s safe to say:

“Put a fork in it, it’s DONE!” 😀

The main John Barrowman category page is here. There are intros to all three pages there, or any of the three are accessible from the left menu.

Gee, now that it’s done, NOW what do I do?!? LOL

@Team_Barrowman vs @U2_360Tour ;-)

Well, THAT was a bit of a shock to my ears this morning. In a good way, though. Got in the car, hit the start button to boot up the car, and “Don’t Fence Me In” from “John Barrowman Swings Cole Porter” started playing in the CD deck. Swap it out for U2’s “Artificial Horizon” CD that just came in yesterday, and *bam* I’m just as easily jamming to the opening remix of “Elevation”.

Quite a jump from:

Just turn me loose, let me straddle my old saddle
Underneath the western skies
On my Cayuse, let me wander over yonder
Till I see the mountains rise.

to

A mole,living in a hole
Digging up my soul
Now going down, excavation
I and I in the sky
You make me feel like I can fly
So high, elevation

Weeeee!

The kicker was when I was about half way to work, and the Live remix of “I’m Gonna Go Crazy” from Croke Park starts blaring through the speakers, and it’s all I can do to NOT start pogoing right there in the driver’s seat. Took me right back to the inner circle in Foxborough. MILES away from riding my Cayuse anywhere. 😀

I love having eclectic musical tastes. My mp3 deck is “like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get” when you hit the start button and boot up the car. :)

@Team_Barrowman CD order has shipped!

Just got an email from AmazonUK saying that my four John Barrowman CDs “have been dispatched” via Royal Mail. Woot! Won’t get here until around March 10th, but that’s okay, it’s all good. It was CHEAP. For cheap, I can have great patience! 😀
